Which should I choose? What's better? Escalades are hard to come by with private owners around here but the Navigators and Durango's are plentiful.

Lincoln, baby! Its a timeless brand, and you can't kill a Ford truck.

In my experence the Duranges, as least the newer boxy ones are junk. The 3rd row is useless for any one over 3ft tall, and the rear cargo room is nonexistant with the 3rd row in use. Lincoln makes a nice truck, but are you preparted for higher operating costs? (premium fuel, syntheic oil, ect...)

I would have to say Navigator. The Durango's have a long list of issues and trouble spots over the years, while the Navigator's were generally pretty reliable. As this seems it will be a used purchase, I think the Navigator is the safer bet. The only thing that would change my opinion is if this vehicle was going to be going places more challenging then a parking lot. If it's going to see a regular lack of pavement, the Druango is a better choice from a capability standpoint.

Never dealt with a ‘Lade but we have had a 2nd gen (2wd) and now a 3rd gen (4wd) Navigator and both are great trucks in terms of reliability, luxury and creature comforts in general. No experience with towing or hauling with either of them. I have had the 3rd gen offroad in a fair amount of mud and it did it with no problems and very smoothly lol… I certainly wouldn’t have been able to take any 2wd through the same paths. They like gas though…

Durangos have a low resale value for a reason. Go with the Navigator. Though don't exclude a loaded Expedition if you want something cozy. Won't be quite as high as the Navigator on the price, but you will still get tons of features.
