I doubt anything will come of it.

We're currently leasing a nissan leaf and while we love it, I don't think we would outright buy an electric car until the Tesla Model E comes out. We are considering getting a PHEV to replace our second car, but we're not sure if we would lease it or buy it because of concerns with the maturity of the technology. When your lease is up are you planning on leasing again or buying?

I'll either lease the next gen of this car or go to a pure electric, as I've found that I can really live with the pure electric range 99% of the time. I don't think I'd buy this tech yet, as it's ever maturing. Even the Tesla E will simply be a variation of the S as far as tech, and there are many improvements yet to be made.

I'd also not want to own this maturing, but still complex tech out of warranty.
