Did it also have no gas in it? It'll drive 300 miles on a tank of gas, if there's no battery power left. (and you can't run the primary battery out of power before the gas generator kicks in. It'll start even if you're not in the car).

Not saying it didn't happen, but it'd be the ONLY one I've ever heard of, including on the Volt forums.

You don't think that in a decade to 15 years, when these batteries start to need to be recycled, that tech won't catch up to the need? Please.

He just said it is out of juice and it wasn't "engaging" the engine....his words not mine. He's a strange IS guy so I didn't push the subject too far other than offering him a ride 2 miles to his house. There is a very good chance of operator error here......who knows. I didn't even know he had a Volt until he was in my truck so it wasn't like I flipped through the manual with him or anything.

He said he liked the car however.....he has had it only for a couple weeks judging by how he was talking about it.

@ LRP

Does that grille scream FORD to anyone else?

Either way, cool looking car...doors are over the top, but the car is good looking.

Not really, no. Subaru has been using some variation of their "trapezoidal" grille design for two decades now.

Ford's grille design is a nearly staight-up ripoff from Aston-Martin. Subaru's is an evolution of a design that first appeared on the Legacy in the early-mid 90's.
