I have heard that overall the middle class seem to have the best overall cars. For some reason the rich seem to love Volkswagen even though it's not expensive and Subaru station wagons from what i have seen. Can you tell me if this is true?

Yes.

Every middle-class CPA I've ever seen daily drives a Mercedes S550 and has a Ferrari/Lambo, or at the very least a Porsche 911 for the weekends.

That's true. In this blue collar, lunch bucket city, I can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Mclaren.

Maybe this is about cool old muscle cars that have been built over years worth of weekends?

I disagree with every blanket generalization posted so far, including the sarcastic ones.

I think you've been drinking too much Kool-aid.

Who do you think are purchasing the super-exotic's, the Bentley's, the Ferrari's, etc? Certainly not poor schlub's like me.

Totally wrong. Everyone knows it is the really poor that have the best cars.

There is a modest-looking house near me that is rented by a bunch of young dudes, and the driveway is filled with the following cars:

Bentley Continental coupe
Bentley sedan
Mercedes-Benz S-550
BMW 7-series
Acura RL
Lexus SUV (the one that is the same as the Toyota Land Cruiser)
Toyota Prius

Clearly, the only affluent one in the bunch is the one driving the Prius, and the others are all solidly middle class.

Why are you guys troll? I was asking serious question, i meant overall middle class have the best cars and some rich don't always have to show off. Obviously a middle class person won't have a Bentley or Mercedes that cost the same as there house.

Okay, please allow me to say this in all seriousness:

Generalizations are rarely accurate portrayals of everyone's situation.
On the topic of this thread, I have known very wealthy people who are rather modest regarding their cars and almost all of their possessions, but I also observe the opposite effect on a daily basis.

To whit:
One of my neighbors is the heir to 2 industrial fortunes (a distillery company and a clothing company), yet he lives in a house that is not very expensive, and his cars are a really old, not very-well-kept-up BMW, and a Taurus station wagon that is at least 7 years old.

But, on the other hand, one of the more common new cars in this neck of the woods is the Porsche Panamera sedan. While these cars are not to my taste, clearly the folks who drive them have both the big bucks to buy (or lease) them, as well as a desire to drive something flashy.

In other words, for every situation of a wealthy person who is modest, you have at least as many (and probably more) people who want the world to know that they are people of means, and they do this by buying expensive, flashy cars.
