Unless you have a prescription, tint on the entire windshield is illegal

That doesn't have to be true. My buddy had an 88 Ford Escort GT, that looked like a petrified white dog turd. He put some dark tint on it and the looks improved 10 fold.

Fun car though. lol

No...it would just look terrible which is why he doesn't want to do it. The air gets trapped around all those dots and appears the tint is not installed correctly (looks like it is coming off). BMW has the same issue at the top of their rear windows and it looks terrible.

What ARE those dots anyways. Like around the front and rear windscreens? I always heard they were part of the areial, but now I'm thinking it just breaks up the hard edges of the windshield. Kind of like camoflauge.

Off topic...I know, sorry OP.

and even then you can only use a UV blocker without coloring, though some use air blue.

the guy at the tint shop is an idiot. the reason he didnt want to put tint on the sunroof is because it is a tough job to get right. i have a friend that does tint for a living, and he hate windshield strips and sunroofs. windshield strips because everyone wants them ending further down than is legally allowed, and sunroofs for the reason i mentioned earlier.

Ive been in San Antonio for 25 years and would never think of not having tint. My Taurus SHO has 35% on the 4 doors and 5% on the back window and back little "wing" windows.

That is the legal limit here. Cant go any darker than 35% on any of the door windows. You can go as ark as you want on the back window and any small side windows and any "eyebrow" on the front window cant be larger than 5inches.

there is actually a line printed on the windshield that dictates where the bottom line of tint can be.
