Well, it amused me to learn that I owned one of them (#92 - 1975 Ford Granada). It had a drive train problem that damaged several starters -- all but one of which Ford paid for -- but I got close to 100,000 miles on it (a more-respectable figure in that day) and it was still seen on the streets of my home town several years later. I was satisfied.
Full agreement on the Chrysler PT Cruiser -- who wants to venerate the Great Depression? -- and while I agree you'll either love or hate 'em, the '57 Mercury and the bug-eye '57 Ford (remember Thunder Road?) will always be favorites of mine.
Chrysler has a habit of making cars that start out as looking inovative but soon begin to look out of place. example the PT Cruiser, The last Imperial they made and the 64 New Yorker. The AMC pacer was another wierd looking creation but so were most cars made by Rambler aka American Motor Corporation. I would not include the Aztec because it was not a car it was a van and there are a lot of vans that would fit on your list as well as most boxy trucks made into SUVs.
They are, Pacer #67, Gremlin #36. Makes the list hard to take too seriously when the Pacer isn't in the to 10, if not top 5.
At least they got the Fiat Multipla in the top 10. It got hit with the ugly stick HARD.
That certainly is one hideous looking car. And just when I thought not much could be more unsightly than an Element.
There seems to be a fascination with driving boxes these days.
The first time I saw a PT Cruiser, I was in love with it. Never bought one, though because it didn't fit my body and was uncomfortable to drive. I only drove one, for a test drive, but that put me off them.
Wow this list is just plain horrible. It's just silly to insult stuff like a '59 Electra, '58 Tbird, '60 Plymouth, etc. I don't see how a Mustang II is just an exaggerated early Mustang. Also the picture they used of the '77 Charger makes it look pretty good. I will admit I'm not a fan of say a '61 Dodge or Plymouth, but there is just so much on that list that shouldn't be there.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Merkur XR4Ti - I thought it was the ugliest car sold in America all three years of its existence.
LOL the Ford EXP? Ford Tempo? The Merkur had a turbo engine and RWD. It can be forgiven.
