If you have the means to afford one and value the comfort, status, quality, etc. it provides, there's nothing wrong with spending your hard earned cash to buy one.
But I don't understand the mentality, among those who cannot afford a luxury car without straining their budget, that they must get one to impress others.. at least I fail to see how that will somehow increase their future earnings.
when a much cheaper Accord or Camry provides the same comfortable ride, simliar quality, and much better milage and maybe even last much longer while saving tons of money? Especially in these days when an Acura/Lexus/BMW don't have the prestige it used to have.
I can tell two things about you already:
1. You've never driven an expensive car.
2. You don't have a lot of money.
The SE Camry is an AMAZING car...and with the 270 hp V6, it's an absolute BLAST to drive...Easily as capable as the M3 for 1/3 the price!!! Heck, the base SE Camry is an all-around competitor to the four door 335i, equally as sporty, amazing feel, great road manners, incredibly performance oriented suspension, just an all around GREAT ENTHUSIAST AUTOMOBILE!
