Part of it might be how tall is she?

I am petite and find that I like the taller nature of a crossover or SUV. It helps to see traffic with some standoff. My Infinity EX 35 meets my needs.

A taller person may do all right in a sedan.

But I wouldn't like it if I didn't choose my car.

I would like advice.

If you can get past your love of imports there is a very nice American made SUV that is perfect for mom.

The Chevy/GMC Tahoe. This vehicle will do all she will ever need with a limousine ride and room that will spoil mom.

When my wife turned 60 she traded her Acura for a "Cowboy Cadillac". Got tired of climbing out of the Acura. (like getting up off the ground.)

Will mom have any appreciation for a finer vehicle? I could buy my mom a Rolls, but she wouldn't like it any more than the GM sedan she drives now. It's just not her thing.

If in fact she would enjoy a finer vehicle, then she definitely needs to be involved in the process of choosing one.

Oh come on stop being so suspicious. It's very likely that someone stumbled on the 1098th ranked automotive forum on the internet, and signed up for membership, just to post this question.

If you say so. I'm calling BS or he has no clue what he is talking about at the very least. Lease a 50k car for 3 years and put 20k miles on it per year....not gonna happen. You can buy it sure, but lease and those circumstances. You might as well buy it.

1) Yes they do. Often My sales rep has done 2 already in May.
2) She has her money and I have mine. There is nothing wrong with a Kia.
3) It's a surprise. I have an idea of what she wants. She isn't a huge car freak but would enjoy something nice. The novelty of a surprise would be more rewarding for her than asking her to go through a brochure and pick out her favorite leather stitching etc.

1) Again, it's very simple; high net worth individuals get tremendous tax breaks for leased vehicles, depending on circumstance.

2) Wrong. First of all I'm getting 18k miles per year on this lease.

But as it happens 20k miles was an option for a small amount more p/month. I am too busy to do a full explanation but Google is available to assist you. Leasing is obviously way more nuanced than you think. There are several different reasons why a consumer would prefer a high mile lease vs. buying a car.
