If you haven't done this already, the best thing you could do is let your wife go on a test drive of both vehicles to see which one feels the most comfortable to drive and control. The Pilot is a pretty large vehicle (the newer ones) and she needs to drive this to see if she "fits" in it. Otherwise, both vehicles are good.
Hey folks, sold the wife's car faster than anticipated. We have been looking for used SUV's above and now have to go car shopping. We will buy used at least 2-3 years old. Must have awd capabilities and 6 cyl. motors. We like both cars. Have had Toyotas before that run forever, but think Hondas will do the same. Which car would you recommend, year and trim package. Was there a bad year or years for either of these two cars? We are scouring the cars sites now to go out and get a car soon. Any feedback on either of these two is needed. Thank you! Kind of like the roomier pilot, but the Toyota gets better gas mileage.
I am seeing the confusion on the Toyota trim lines....the limited is the one I am looking at. Is their "base" model the "sport" pkg??? I am also hearing the generation of HL's going up to 2007 seem a better car than the 2008 and newer. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Do all the pilots have the "Eco" mode or is that a new model thing?
i dont know if i'd worry too much about the 'eco' mode on the pilot; again it's something you can feel now and then but I dont pay attn to it. I guess if that eco mode helps save any fuel, then it's worth it.
I read about it when researching a 2005 Honda Accord for a friend.
After doing a lot of research on the car itself (suspension , problematic areas) - I heard about the VCM issue on the J series.
My friend's 2005 does NOT have VCM. bit there is quite a bit of varnish visible through the fill tube.
