Is hydrogen really an "alternative" energy source or is the hydrogen simply a carrier for conventional energy sources? What process was used to obtain that hydrogen? Electrolysis? If so, what form of energy did the power plants use? Coal? Natural gas? Or was the hydrogen cracked from fossil fuels, which is a much more cost-effective method than electrolysis? In that case, hydrogen is just a different result of processing fossil fuels.
