This thread is even funnier after you look at the posts in the NYC forum where a relatively large fraction of people are perfectly OK tapping the bumpers of other cars while parking and/or leaving a tight spot. Some of you definitely need to relax.

The action may be equivalent, but you're suggesting if someone was sitting in one of the tapped parked cars, they would just let that slide without even getting out to check? I highly doubt that. There's nothing inherently wrong with tapping another car while parking, but it would be wrong if you don't check for and acknowledge any damage.

agreed, but I feel like other posters were out of line with some of their comments.
