My wife and I love to jump into my 2001 Town and Country and cruise up and down the east coast. I love this car. It's big and roomy and it feels like I'm driving my living room couch on long hauls, but it's getting old and the repairs are getting costlier.

On the other hand, my wife has a 2003 Honda CR-V, a fabulous around-town car, tight and responsive, but after 2 hours on the highway I feel like I've been sealed inside a tin can that's trying to beat my brains in.

I'm trying to find something in-between, but comfort on long trips is a priority and that's tough to tell on a test drive. I'm curious if anyone has any opinions. So far I've looked at the Chevy Malibu and Equinox, the Honda Accord, the Toyota Camry and the RAV4 and the Subaru Outback.

Any opinions?
There's no real way to answer this, because everyone is different.

I'm 6'3" and my wife is 5'6" tall. Few things are more comfortable for me than my full-size truck - which she doesn't like to drive. Few things are more comfortable for her than the small wagon she drives - which I can hardly get in and out of.

I have a Chevy Impala and I drive back and forth from the Midwest to the East Coast at least twice a year. It handles like a dream and the seats are very comfortable for long trips, plus the trunk is enormous. Highly recommend!

Take a look at the new redesigned Impala. I'm not a Chevy fan but Consumer Reports scored it a 95 which is in rarefied territory with the top-of-the-line Lexus LS. It's a luxo-cruiser on a beer budget. In fact I told my gf's brother who's 6'3 220lb and drives a Genesis to give it a look when his lease comes up later this year.

Infiniti QX56 current edition. Wife, who is 5ft 3 and I both like driving or riding in it over long distances. Roomy, comfortable seats, smooth and powerful. Gas mileage sucks but that wasnt a criteria I saw. Ive done a 11k mile 6 week road trip in the old version which was a nice vehicle but the new edition is a whole other animal....drives and rides like a car with firm suspension.

i drove a t&c for almost 9 hours straight. very comfortable. love those fully adjustable seats - especially the lower back support. great steering wheel, nice instrument panel. i remember danny devito's quote from get shorty about the cadillac of minivans. describes the t&c to a T.

I test drove all the minivans and though the Nissan Quest had the most comfortable ride. If you test drive it let me know what you think.

Check out a VW Passat or Jetta. Very comfortable seating and nice ride. A friend of mine recently bought a chrysler 200 fully loaded, nice comfortable ride, luxury in the low $20k range.

Don't have extended experience (drove it briefly) but Toyota Avalon should be on any list of comfort seekers. It surpasses the more expensive Lexus.

I agree get another van.
Also, I have found the Toyota Camry's uncomfortable, feels like I am sitting on the floor.
