Okay no funny jokes.. LOL

First day completed, some seriously fast cars. Two in the 6's and over 200mph.. now will they make the 1500 miles though. Some might argue that the majority of these cars are far from "street" cars but getting 3000hp plus thru 1500 miles takes more than just deep pockets.

Just read in the blog they rode along with one of the competitors car , a '69 Camaro that makes 2200hp at the rear wheels, and while pulling a small trailer still got 12mpg. Not too bad for a 200+ mph car.
I must be the only one into drag racing..

You are not the only one into racing. I got involved in Drag Racing in the late 50's. Have built and raced door slammers, dragsters, hot boats, motorcycles, dune buggies, and more. Now I'm old and grey and just follow NHRA on the tube, with an occasional appearance at local strips when the Mello Yello series shows up..
For many years I lived a mile from John Force shop and home in Yorba Linda and cheer for and follow his team closely. Grand kids went to school with Courtney. Been to his shop many times and met them many times. Great family..

We're still out here, racking up miles a quarter mile at a time.
