My car sits just there after I turn the key. But if I jiggle the stick (in park) the engine comes to life.
I'm thinking the shift cable is slightly out of adjustment, so the transmission thinks it isn't in park and the neutral safety lock is keeping it from starting. Does that sound right? Other ideas?
Other facts: happens 10% of the time or so. Dash lights come on as they should when I turn the key, but engine doesn't turn over.
In the event you decide to live with this inconveneince, remember the car should also start in neutral. So if the car fnally won't start in park at all, try neutral.
