It happened to my brother and he made the Dealer's life hell.

He traded in his pickup because they made him an offer he could not refuse on a new one... drove out with the new one same day on a Friday.

Come Tuesday, he gets a call and they tell them there is a problem with the terms they offered and he needs more down and the rate will be higher...

He tells them that is not the deal and he bringing the truck back, will pay them the 40 cents a mile for the weekend and picking up his old truck.

They had already wholesaled it and it was already sold retail...

He filed complaints with the State, Consumer Affairs, the BBB, local TV Consumer Reporter and wrote to the local papers...

Somehow by the end of the week the Dealer said it was all OK... didn't need anymore down and the original interest rate stands...

Sometimes you just have to decide not to be a victim...

My name is.bill. i am meeting with a car dealer tomorrow to set up a deal on a 2017 chevy cruze rs with 1065 miles. It was bought back off of the first owner due to health issues. The car org price was above 26k now its price is 18k. Do they still have wiggle room. Id like to get it for under 16,999.

Well. Do you believe that story? Are you sure it was not in any accident or stolen/damage repair?

Best to check all. Take to an independent shop and have everything checked.

Most dealers are honest. But some . . . well . . . the truth can be absent.

You do NOT have a 3 day return policy. I've sold cars. Almost all states are contract states which means you sign for it, you own it.

Do not go and buy a new car and have buyers remorse-you'll be stuck with it. Buy used

You could sell it back to the dealer to "get rid of your payments" but good luck getting them to give you the full amount you owe on the car. It won't happen. Spend some more time researching before trying out something like this and just buy what you can truly afford.

The OP posted this in 2013. Why are you responding to OP?

Eh. It happens. People treat these threads as new threads because they don't always notice the post date of the OP. Not a big deal.
