Middle of Ohio to Naples Florida all on I-75. Don’t remember the exact mileage but between 1200 & 1300 miles.

930 miles St. Louis, MO to Dillon, CO on I-70. Kansas felt like 1000 miles by itself.

The Alcan highway (1387 mi) in 1963. I remember signs saying 'Gas, x miles ahead, DO NOT PASS'. At that time a lot of it was unpaved.

In 1965 I was stopped one evening by the highway patrol in Kansas. Asked me how far I was going. San Francisco, I said.

"You may want to stay in town for the night. There is not another open gas station for 400 miles."
I stayed.
