I sure would if those roads are only one lane. If they were, going around those curves could be more scary than the heights.

Seems like a rather odd place for a road when there's that nice plateau above it. It would be an interesting ride, though. What's the location, John?

I would have a problem driving on that road, since it's in China, and I'm here in the good, old, U.S.A. There was a thread about this road in the travel forum:

Fascinating pics. Thought it was in Bolivia though, not China? They call it the "Death Highway", or "Highway of Death"...or something like that. I guess literally hundreds of people die on it every year.

There have been some stories about the highway of death that have had pictures of the tunnel included, but from everything I've read about it, the tunnel is not part of that highway. From what I can tell, that tunnel is actually in China. There is a thread about this in the travel forum.

Here is a link to the "Yungas Road" story, about the "Road of Death" in Bolivia (it's the second half of the page, following the Highway of Mud story):

Dangerous Roads

Here is the link for the Guoliang Tunnel story:

Danger in China

I think it would be a beautiful drive! I have driven many mountain roads..dirt, paved, you name it. Lived in the mountains all my youger years. Mountain roads were what I learned to drive on. It would be the "other" drivers that would concern me!!

The plateau above it is the destination. The road is the means of getting up there.
