Why does the September magazine come out in July?
Why does Christmas shopping start in October?

Why? Who cares...

I do. My 2005 vehicle is actually 9 years old, not 8.

What dose the vin tag say on the door frame, when exactly(month and year) was it built. That will tell how "old" the car is

yea its been this way for a long time now. the auto industry is super competitive so everybody wants to stay one step ahead of the next guy. if they put a hot product out months ahead of the competition then they will a big advantage in sales number.

Some people just have to be the first to own something "new". If you can buy a 2015 Chevy months before you can buy a Ford those who have to be first will be down at the Chevy dealer waiting for the doors to open so they can be first.
Sort of like those lunatics who camp out in front of the electronics store so they can be the first to own this months newest electronic gadget.

Many times those car buyers who have to be first will be paying many dollars over list just to be first.
