Yeah, we all want a Ferrari or Bugatti but for most, it's unattainable.
What is your "dream" car that you can easily make a reality?
Mine is a Mazda Miata Retractable Hardtop. I've always wanted an open roof car. And the Miata is a fun little driver. Catches eyes but is not so desirable that you're afraid to leave it unattended while getting groceries.
Plus the chicks dig it. There was a time chicks would literally jump in your Miata as you're stopped at the corner.
Okay I made that last part up, but I'm sure it's happened.
Me: "Hey baby, wanna ride?"
Girl: " I Love Rides!"
As with all threads like this, everyone's definition of attainable is going to be different. Barring winning the lottery or something, I don't see myself ever paying more than $125-150k for a car, so the best attainable dream car for me is likely a Porsche 911 Turbo, or used Lambo Gallardo or something.
Leasing an exotic isn't that expensive. My personal barometer is any car I own must be able to be parked at Walmart without issue. So the limit is a Jaguar XKR-S, Ariel Atom, or SRT Viper. A Ferrari or Lambo I have no interest in.

Agreed. It's pointless question. You can mortgage quite a car.
Hmmmm, maybe a Cayman or newer Boxster. I could drop a little $$ on a 10 year old Boxster right now, but I guess part of attainable for me would have to be usable. Meaning, as long as I need a set of car seats I don't see a 2 door, 2 seat sports car in the garage...But I'd love to have a Porsche.
Well it is a classic but still very attainable by todays standards:
1968 Mercury Cougar XR7-G: Dark blue on white/black leather, 4-spd, moon roof, factory air with the steering wheel from a 67'.
Prices are around 30,000 for a nice runner/driver example, few months of weekends in the garage and it's a head turner!
