While I am sure a 10 year old Mercedes drives great, I am looking for a car that I can put 200k plus miles on (not a German car) without breaking the bank. But that actually drives like a German car.

It's rated at 5.8 seconds 0-60mph

That's the most unconvincing 5.8 0-60 mph run ever.

Unfortunately, much like everything else, you get what you pay for, there is no way around.

If there was such a vehicle (reliable and driving same as German cars), the prospering German manufacturers would not do so well...don't you think?

To get to drive a non-appliance to +200k miles worry free, why not buy a CPO BMW until it hits 100k and upgrade for next CPO...

Not in the OP's price range but I would look at a Lexus IS F-Sport

Oh, I dunno, for many people it's the badge that matters, not the car.

I think you can find plenty of cheap(er) cars that still handle great, and are fun to drive.

After over 25 vehicles owned and renting on regular basis, I have to disagree with the part: "fun to drive" for cheaper.
But of course this is my opinion only, the beautiful thing is that we each are different and like different things...

With the <30K, I would look at any of the Mazdas (I'm sure this has been suggested in the prior 8 pages).

Have to second that recommendation. Also, the Infiniti G sedan handles a lot like a BMW, but at your price range you would have to get a used model.
