All these honkers just need to take a chill pill or something. Not one of them knows the reason if I, or anyone else, am not making a right turn but have my blinker on. The light is red so in no way am I obligated to turn so I don't have to.
I probably have better viability then the car behind me so perhaps there is traffic that I can't beat without causing them to slow down or possibly me getting creamed.
I may be pulling a trailer and can't make that turn as tight as I need to without going into oncoming traffic.
If turning onto a multi lane road and the other lanes have cars in them my truck might not make the hard 90 degree turn without either getting to close to one of the other lanes with traffic or banging my right rear tire on the curb.
If planning to turn onto a multi lane road I may be planning on making the next left and there are cars in the lane I'll need to be in to make that left, even if the the right lane is wide and empty.
I don't feel like mashing the gas, causing a burnout and possibly slinging contents of my vehicle around or putting me and any oncoming traffic at risk of a collision just so I can beat any traffic and save 10 seconds.
Only I know the acceleration rate of my car.
I'm the one who is responsible for my actions so you can wait. I value my life and don't plan to risk it just so you can save 10 seconds.
Your behind me and the light in front of me is RED. Your gonna wait until either I make my decision to turn right on it based on MY observations of what is going on or until the light is green, whichever comes first.
Drover just remember that when you're immaturely calling people names, when you're pointing a finger at them them you have 3 fingers pointing right back at you...
Has anyone had a big SUV or Truck to the lane to the left of you pull up so far that you can't even see if traffic is coming forcing you to sit and wait for the light to turn green?

Yep, Happens on a daily basis.
Solution is to:
1 give them the stink eye.
2 get a bigger vehicle.

Excellent post.
Then there are the "Oh, my God, someone's in front of me and they aren't getting OUT OF MY WAY fast enough" crowd who blame their own road rage and poor impulse control and poor dealing with delayed gratification on everyone else because the most important thing in the world to them is EVERYONE GET OUT OF MY WAY.
