I think the radars are aimed from the front not back, is that correct?
Do not tailgate.

As others have posted you just lower your chances of living to a ripe old age.

You increase your chance, because you're committing 2 offenses: speeding, and tailgating.

Not the first time the OP has brought this question up. I'm curious why s/he hasn't come back to this thread...

No. It's a post in a different thread.

We formed a nice pack on FWY going 80, 8 cars. Everything was dandy and very so enjoyable.
About 15 miles away from KY border, HWY65 goes straight up hill, with large demarcation area between N and S lanes. As it goes up hill, it also takes sharp turn, not sharp enough to slow down, but you can NOT see what's around the corner.
Our pack, I am # 4 in it, pulls into that curve - and my radar detector explodes in roar. Come to find, smart trooper was right behind the curve, in that demarcation area, so that he is not seen for oncoming traffic. As you fly at 80mph around the corner, you get straight into his speed gun.
So I slowed down and pulled into the R lane, pretending I am good boy.
You know what he did? He pulled over every single one of us, lined us up under the bridge, all 8, and handed everyone $185 ticket. ANd in case, someone would have decoded to pretend he didn't see him waving his hand at you and pointing to pull over, he had a back up cop about 2 miles down the road.
How about that for your question?
Or, having a trooper tackle you from an overpass, and his partner pull you half mile down the road?
Or, how about YOU ramming into that car in front of you, when HE has to hit the brakes and YOu are lulled into comfy rabbit chase?
Oh man, that's hilarious. All eight of you at once? Priceless. I've only seen that a couple of times in all my years of driving, and I've only been pulled over solo.

What really matters is that you got back up to 80 mph before the ink on your ticket was dry. Did the pack reform and resume speed, or did you scatter after you got nailed?

I was rolling up the freeway 15 mph over the limit with a good old gal on my tail, about 6 feet off my rear bumper. An unmarked car tried to pull me over, but there was no room behind me for him to change lanes, so he settled for pulling her over instead of me.

Of course, that wouldn't work if there were multiple cops flock shooting speeders.

Maybe, maybe not. You will be in a higher risk of a fender-bender.

Actually the OP has a valid point, if he were tailgating me he'd be in no danger of a ticket as we'd soon be doing at least 10 under.
