2 adults, a 10 and 7 year. and 2 car seats(daughter is two and have a son on the way). i dont want a suv. please, no soccer mom mini vans. and must be affordable. no luxury cars
How about a full size van then? My parents have always had one since before I was born and I loved it as a kid! Had a tv in the back, plenty of room, and your kids classmates will always want to ride with you on field trips because you have a tv in your car.
If you don't want that, I don't know what else you could use that would hold 6 people (legally and comfortably) that isn't an SUV or mini-van. Unless of course you get a limo.
You've boxed yourself in with your requirements, unfortunately.
I second the reco of the Ford Flex. Maybe you can find one that's 4 or 5 years old?
Other than that, going by your requirements, I'd say look for an old Taurus/Sable wagon with a 3rd set (I believe you could get one in certain model years) or a big full size domestic boat like a Crown Vic with bench seats front and back.
i like the dodge magnum. is it a gas guzzler though?
Does Chrysler still make the Magnum I thought it was out of production since 2008 rumors are they want to bring it back but the 300C and Charger and Challenger would sell 10x more then the Magnum it is a great idea for a special edition version but a production model station wagon competes with the Dodge Caravan and Dodge Durango and would be priced a 4K-5K more then a comparable Charger.

New or used?
What's "affordable"?
Crossovers come to mind: Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX9, etc.
Some GM sedans still had front bench seats up until a year ago, The Impala was one. I'd pass if children were front seat passengers, though.
If you don't want a car that looks EXACTLY like a minivan but still pretty much is one, maybe check out the Chevy Uplander or Pontiac Montana. There's also the Chevy Captiva which is a bargain compared to the other Chevy SUVs.
The Ford Flex would be my choice, though.
Chevy/GMC Astro/Safari. Mid-Size van, built like a truck, great drive trains, very roomy, will hold your brady bunch + gear, cheap to buy, part's are cheap, very reliable, can be had in AWD, 2WD variant's are even cheaper to buy.
