They were made to be more durable. Not faster.

Surprised nobody mentioned the 9C1 caprice. It had the (option of) LT1, same as the Camaro of that time although I think it was de-tuned .

True. The Caprice did have the LT1, same as the Corvette and Camaro/Trans Am of those years. However the Caprice was still a 3,800 lb car compared with the 3,400 lb camaro or 3,200 lb corvette. I know they are still popular cars today for ghetto bangers to roll around in, they often brag it has a "corvette" engine in it, and while they are correct it shares the same engine as that distant year's corvette, that's all it shared. Everything that makes a Corvette fast and nimble is still missing in a Caprice.

LT1's were good for about 275HP if I remember correctly, which is still more HP than the latest Crown Victorias.

Years back Florida Highway Patrol used Fox Body Mustang 5.0's......Boynton Beach had an undercover 2003 Cobra in bright yellow.....This is a classic video (taser shot included) with a local resident that didn't believe the Cobra could run radar while underway!

Ya, a few years back they developed this thing called a police radio. Let me know if you can outrun that!

I'm sorry but a police radio isn't much good if they didn't get a license plate number on the car. Cars like the GT500, ZR1, GTR, SLR, and others can do 200MPH, they'll find an exit and be miles away before a police car can radio in assistance and get to those areas. On the interstate there are too many exits and too much ground to cover if you're dealing with a super fast car.

LOL! THIS VIDEO IS HILARIOUS! That dumb woman had it coming. The cop was nothing but forthright and honest with her, gave her multiple opportunities and he finally made good with what he said he would.
