I haven't seen a 7 X 16 basic utility trailer with brakes ever and most factory hitches are grossly underrated. Take a look under a brand new Chevy diesel dually and you will find a factory hitch that is good for 10,000 lbs at best, despite the fact the truck can tow significantly more!

Really? I don't know what State you're in but most require brakes on a trailer that has a GVWR of 3000 pounds or more. A 7x16 trailer that less than a 3K# rating has to be darn near worthless.

I'm looking at the brochure. Page 28 (specs) in particular. There's nothing I see including the fine print that says anything about a 10K hitch. It looks like everything is set to about 13K# unless you go all out with the turbo diesel and extra tow package which can get you up to 23K#.
