Someone told you? As explained earlier no gas engine in any pickup 3/4 or larger will be "good." It doesn't matter which brand, the mileage will be low teens. If you're pulling a trailer or fighting a wind expect single digits.
Mostly see 5th wheels being pulled by Fords and Dodges. Don't see as many HD GM trucks, they are mostly 1/2 ton. Definitely avoid the Ford 6.0L.
I like Ram's interior. Heated steering wheel, cooled/heated seats, remote start that turns these on automatically, RAM boxes, push button start, etc. The others are starting to have these options now.

Going with SRW or DRW?
Camping World has told me get a 8ft bed on a truck for a 5th wheel.
Go with this. Dodge, Chevy, and Ford cannot come close to the supreme badassery of this Isuzu!
that truck might have had a bit of custom work done to it.
to the OP, any of the trucks you are thinking about will handle the job nicely. fuel economy will be similar across the board, as will towing performance. you just want to remember the basics of buying a truck;
1: buy only as much truck as you need for the job
2: buy the best truck you can afford regardless of brand
i prefer the ford F250, but if you find a good dodge or chevy/gmc 3/4 ton truck that fits the bill, then go for it.
It might cost less to rent a truck for the time you are hauling your fifth wheel trailer around. Do you really need a truck for the fifty weeks you are not on vacation?
I owned a Chevy C-10 for a couple of decades so I have experience with older GM vehicles. That truck was unkillable. it had an Olds gasoline engine that replaced the infamous diesel.

You right about just renting a truck because I will not move that much.
I did own a 1997 Ford 1/2 ton Van with a 4.6 engine and it was a gas hog.
The Toyota dealer told me that Tundra cann't haul a 5th wheel camper but can pull a Travel Trailer. Tundra has great pulling power.
Nissan Titan truck cann't haul a 5th camper but can pull a Travel Trailer the dealer has told me.
