Well this is destined to turn into a flame war.. I personally like Ford. I have had 4 F-150's. My father just bought a 2010 Lariat with 95,000 miles on it. It drives and rides like a brand new vehicle. Plus the ECOboost saves on gas, and supposedly is great for towing. However, If i were to be towing on a frequent basis I would stick with the V8 option (Now a 5.0, if you go used you are likely to run into the 5.4). Just my two cents.

Keep in mind, with such magnitude of a question, you should not be inquiring here. You want to go to the real forum for particular make. Read read and read. Specialty forums are the best for such decisions.

The truck I pick will be used and have a gas engine. I will not be moving my 5th wheel camper that much.

Go with this. Dodge, Chevy, and Ford cannot come close to the supreme badassery of this Isuzu!

It would be tough, honestly. I am a Chevy guy, but all of the big 3 are making a pretty good truck these days. Are you looking for Gas or Diesel?

I've really taken a liking to the new Dodge trucks. I think if I were in the Market for a new truck, I would probably go Dodge. I like the new GM trucks, but the infotainment/dash layout bugs me. I've driven all of them, and for me personally the Dodge is the most comfortable and easiest to get accustomed to. All offer solid power trains, I prefer the LS engines in the GM's for gas engines, followed by the hemi, and the ecoboost does nothing for me honestly, I'm not sold on them. For diesel, duramax/cummins/superduty will all offer more torque than you will ever need and should last a long long time. Interior I would say Ford is right there at the top for being the nicest inside.

Love my '04 Silverado 2500HD. I've had three Chevys, both half ton and 3/4, and one Ford. The Chevys fit me the best. I've hauled horses all over the west coast for years so have spent a lot of time in them. I've never had any problems, never been stranded (pushing my good luck by saying that!). Right now it's killing me because I've retired from the horse business and don't really need my 2500HD, but I keep finding excuses to keep it, and little jobs for it to do, because I just love to drive it. Be sure whatever you get truly fits your body type . . . sounds obvious, but if you're on the road for any length of time, you'll want to be comfortable. Good luck with whatever truck you choose.

It will be a gas engine and just which one has the best gas mileage if any?

They are all great but I prefer the Cummins for towing. An inline 6 by nature makes more torque and gets better mileage.

Sorry just saw that you want a gas engine. Don't have much to offer for that choice.

Well it would be even in the HD truck category were the SOHC 6.2 Ford V-8 in the Super Duty, The new for 2014 6.4 Hemi in the Ram 2500 HD and The new for 2014 Direct injected LS1 based 6.2 GM Gasser V-8 in the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 25000 HD twins are the only choices.

In the end all are about equal and when towing gas mileage ill be horrible and when buying a Gasser truck HD 3/4 ton truck fuel economy should be lower on the priority list then everything else IMO.

I mean in the end the difference of less then about 1-2MPG separates all three of the Heavy Duty 3/4-ton Gasser Trucks V-8s engine choices in Real World driving so it really come down to what engine you like best and what truck you prefer the small difference in Fuel is so negligible it does not really matter unless trying to win Motor trend most Fuel efficient truck of the year award by 1MPG better then the other two Trucks .
