What, you didn't get the memo? You must have a SUV or a truck to carry lumber. Now take all that back to the lumberyard and don't try that again!
While I carried that much lumber in my PT Cruiser, the Fit and the PT would NOT fit a stack of full sheets of 4x8 plywood or sheetrock. Or a full size sofa and loveseat. Nor will either of them tow my 8000 lb 30 ft travel trailer with ease. My Suburban will do all of those.
Fun trivia-the PT and the Suburban have almost the same turning circle. I have a PT as a company car and truly detest it. It is an ugly American wagon.

the automatic ones have a rather large turning circle, my manual trans version actually turned pretty good, as I found out by autocrossing it.
The manual trans version is also over 3 seconds quicker to 60mph than the automatic version and has no problem with hills (the automatic one tends to hunt for gears as it climbs hills)
It carried all the wood for our deck, all the replacement windows (36x64) for the house stacked floor to ceiling, my 60 gallon stand up air compressor, 1200 lb of bagged crushed rock at one shot, and went tent camping with the scouts many times, along with the autocrossing and road trips. One of the best cars I've ever had (and i've had a lot) and absolutley a great small wagon. I had it for 5 years and 70k miles and probably should not have sold it. But it wouldn't tow a travel trailer, so I moved up.

PT Cruiser is not a wagon. It's a truck. VIN prefix 3C8, not 3C3.

I dont care what b.s. Chrysler pulled with thier mexican built hatchback to circumvent the EPA/CAFE averages, it is not a truck. Show me how to stand up a fullsize basketball hoop/ pole assembly in the "bed" of that "truck".

It's not a truck. Chrysler can call it a truck or call it the friggin space shuttle if they want, it doesn't have a frame or a bed. It's a wagon.
