The last time we picked up a hh was from from Hana to Kahului. Turns out they were POT growers. fun trip..

Many,many years ago it was a safe way to travel. I have hitch hiked and picked up hitch hikers. With all the nuts out there any more NO WAY would I pick someone up.

It was safe to do in the 40's and 50's, but since the 60's it's been too crazy and dangerous out there.

The last time I was in Hawaii, it was illegal to hitchhike. They would just stand on the side of the road (instead of standing there and also sticking out their thumb).
