Don't be ridiculous. Left lane hogs cause road rage and packs of cars. Besides, speeding doesn't cause accidents,..driver error does.
No the road rages short temper causes road rage. not the left lane hogs.
I run into left lane hogs all the time and i don't act like a freak about it, i just hang back and wait for him to move or wait for a nice gap on the right for me to pass... no big deal really.
Let's have a poll. I am so sick of those left lane hogs doing the speed limit or two under and they won't get out of the way. I don't care if you are doing 75 in a 55 on the tollway, if someone wants to go faster and you can safely change lanes, GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!
That is the way I was taught drive that the left lane was for passing or one needs to make a left turn.
That speed limit sign is the ultimate law. Its pretty much "This is the speed limit. It is to be obeyed above all else. You do not go above this speed. If you do there will be consequences"
my take on the issue is I;ll go above the speed limit if i want to and i'll deal with any resultant consequences,

When the cops let everyone go 5 to 10 over, it is no longer the ultimate law.
By looking at the poll, the majority are on my side,...the side of reason and consideration!!
You do realize that some didn't vote in the poll because it only gave two possible answers when the real answer is "it depends", don't you? Or maybe not.
Oh, and it's "considerate" not to break the speed limit and to chill when someone in front of you is driving at the speed limit even if you really really really want to break it.
It is not your job to make sure people obey the speed limit. It is your job, as a driver, to be considerate of the majority of drivers who want to drive faster then the artificially low speed limits. Please move out of the passing lane if you can safely do so to let people pass.

Some states, in the urban areas you don't have to move over because of heavy traffic and left lane exits. so if someone is tailgating me, flashing lights when i am passing i will not move over for them... if they hang back and wait for me to pass i will even speed up and get out of your way.
Its amazing how many people move over for you when you don't tailgate.
I generally can't stand "left lane hogs", but can understand the pavement quality issue. On some stretches of rural interstate, the roadway isn't maintained as well. Large trucks tear up the right lane, meaning the left lane is a much smoother ride. Fine. I understand that... Just keep an eye on your mirror and move right if someone comes up behind you.
It's dangerous to pass on the right (the car being overtaken has a bigger blind spot on the passenger side, so it's harder for them to see the vehicle overtaking them if the faster car passes on the right). As a road user, you are not an enforcer of speed limits, so why get worked up when someone wants to go faster?
Around Arizona, I've been cruising at 90-100 (which, honestly, isn't an unreasonable speed in parts). When people come up behind me, even at those speeds, I move right as soon as I'm safe to do so.
My reasoning? You never know why someone is speeding. You might read their tailgating and flashing lights as them being an aggressive driver... but what if their mother had a heart attack and is being rushed to the hospital, or what if their wife is having a baby? There are plenty of legitimate reasons to speed, and there's no way you can distinguish the motives of other drivers. So just let them pass -- they might just have an important reason to speed.
