Check your speedometer calibration, 100 is probably not 100. Satnav works.

Not sure how fast I was going in my 67 Grand Prix. Shortly after breaking 100 MPH the speedometer started bouncing all over the place. I wanted to peg the speedometer but common sense kicked in. Doing 100 plus MPH on a two lane highway in the middle of the night in a rust bucket with really cheap bias ply tires was probably not the smartest thing to do. No tickets. Since getting rid of that car in 1980 I have not owned a vehicle that could reach 100 MPH unless it was driven off a cliff and was in a freefall. Probably would also need a down draft.

You did not specify it had to be an automobile and on a road.

No I did not get a ticket
There is a thread topic area for "aviation" and this topic area is "automotive". Also you weren't "driving/flying" the plane I'm assuming

123 MPH in a Vauxhall Cavalier SRi 1.8 8valve at about 2 AM.
This was in England on the M25, had to slow down for the Dartford river crossing bridge because I did not want to find out what would happen when I crested the top lol

Here in the USA I found out that a 2002 Highlander will not let you go over 110 MPH.
Had a Saab 9-5 Aero here too, but never even tried the top speed, why do 150 in the US ?

I drove my Mazada RX7 turbo 125mph on US 90 well west of San Antonio for a few miles and did not get a ticket.

I drove my Infiniti Q45 110mph for about 100 miles on the way back to Houston from Taos/Angel Fire NM area. It was a straight as an arrow road and early one sunday morning. I did not see a car much less a ticket giver in that stretch. The road is a state highway but in good shape and has very few curves and you can see a few miles down the road. My wife and her mom were asleep in the car and had no idea I was that fast, the Q45 was smooth and quiet at the pace.

Around 125-130mph top speed. Achieved a few times with a couple different cars... Once was a less used hard surface road in Iowa late at night in a 2000 Mercury Cougar V6 5speed. Another was at 3 AM on an abandoned I-80 in the middle of Nebraska in a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 5 speed. No tickets, I don't drive fast if other cars are around, that could endanger myself and others.

Might be rebuilding a Porsche 944 soon, with a possible engine swap... these numbers *might* go up.

High 140s. On a bike. On a track. All legal, all good times.

I know this sounds horrible but anybody who drives over 110 or so mph on a regular public street/freeway here in The US, and get into a wreck and dies deserves what happened to them. Driving that fast is not safe. It's one thing if you drive on a race care track but to danger other peoples life just because you want to show off....not cool.

Speed alone is not all that can cause serious wrecks and death. Make sure the car you are driving can really handle the speed that is brakes, handling and tires aren't going to fail you or surprise you. Also do not do this near another vehicle, not only will you endanger them but its more dangerous at any speed to drive side by side as I see often on highways. Ive seen slow drivers who are more at risk than some drivers are when driving fast. But if your a bad driver at slow speeds, faster speeds increases the risk of a serious accident exponentially

I did 170 mph for hours and wasn't breaking any laws or doing anything that was that dangerous. It was here in the U.S.
