"What is the fastest you've ever driven?"

Is that...with a blindfold, or without?

Wyoming law:
Adjudication of Speed Law Violations: Civil/Criminal Adjudication of Violation:
All speed law violations are misdemeanors. §31-5-1201

Here in Wyoming it's possible to get tossed in jail for up to 20 days on first offense, up to 30 days on second offense (in same year) and up to 6 months on subsequent offenses. (That doesn't make it a felony.)

My son was coming home from college one weekend in his Chevy Turbo Sprint (1988). A friend joined him for the weekend and was driving -- 130 mph in a 65 zone. Friend was escorted to the county jail for a day. That Sprint was a quick little car, but I wouldn't recommend driving 130 mph in it!

Fastest I've driven was about 140 mph fairly briefly -- both in my Saab 9000 Turbo and in my Porsche 924 Turbo. I once averaged 120 for 120 miles -- one hour flat -- in the Saab, and another time 50 miles at about the same speed. In both cases I was slowing to 80-90 when meeting or overtaking traffic, so I covered a lot of road at 130+. In the last one, I'd just slowed (different, busier road) to around 80 or so. I was way behind but overtaking a WHP. He whipped around and met me with his lights flashing. I didn't know they had speed guns that read in both directions! I think he got me for 78 in a 65. I was all smiles! LOL

That was my last ticket, about 15 years ago. I don't speed any more. Don't recommend it either.

Kind of reminds of the time when I was getting on the highway in my 1985 RX7 that I had put a turbocharged 13B in. I saw a local county sheriff's car come by on the highway doing about 90mph with no lights on, so I kicked in down and quickly matched speed about 1/8th mile back from him. When we got to the next exit, he started to get off, then started to get back on, finally coming to rest in the crosshatched area between the off-ramp and the highway. I slowed down and just drove past on the exit ramp. He looked bewildered, but pulled out behind me. After following me for about a mile, he turned off and he went about his merry way. I am sure he was wondering how he was going to explain to the judge that he knew I was doing 90mph because he was doing 90mph and I was keeping up with him Oh the things we do when we are teenagers.

I used get a kick out of going over a 100mph on an open stretch when I was younger. Never got caught at that. I seem to get my speeding tickets in small towns by exceeding t limit.he 35mph,

About 120mph on 1/4 mile strip. Probably hit around 130mph on the track. Max I did was 180mph+ on undisclosed location when I was younger and foolish.

Max I drove in the past 10+ years is around 90mph.

I did a 135mph in my 66 Impala 327,300 hp 4 speed. As a friend and i were chased by a Ks Hwy Patrol 426 wedge interceptor. He was in a Roadrunner 383 magmum with headers and automatic. That wedge was way back there and it looked like a porch light was turned on behind us way back there and it kept getting brighter and brighter. Yes he ran us to ground. Roadrunner gets off at a freeway exit. Intercepter tries to slow down but for some reason he overshoots the exit ramp. I took the advantage of not letting off and got over a hill and cut back south through the median. All the Intercepter had to do was look over and he woulds have seen me.

I did 140 mph in my 2012 Dodge Challenger R/T last year on route 100, in Vermont, going north from Wilmington. It was still pulling, but my husband said I would go to jail and they would keep the car if I got stopped. I slowed down, but it was one fantastic feeling. I do go 100 in it too often though. I'm over due for a ticket.

165 on a 2005 Honda CBR 600RR

132 (speed limited at 127, still pulling hard enough that it made it to 132.) in a turbo charged Scion tC.

Not pulled over for either.

Edit: Read that someone said we should put the vehicles in, so I did.

I've driven at some insane speeds in a car and on a motorcycle and didn't get a ticket but now that I'm older and wiser, or possibly a been there, done that thought, I believe that there's no logical reason that a car needs to be able to go faster then 85 MPH. There's just too many people around now at this point of time to get an adrenaline kick this way on public roads.
If you want to dance with the devil, just make it a private dance in a private place.

I've gone over 100 a few times so far. Once was racing a logging truck going downhill on Rt. 89 in Vermont. Another was on a empty gravel road in New Mexico driving a poor little rental Nissan. I had my Kawasaki KZ1300 still pulling at 115 in third gear in NH. I even rode my scooter for 35 miles in 35 minutes on a NH mountain road. In case you think I'm a crazy kid I'll never see 65 again and if I don't stop this silliness I'll not likely see 70.
