June 1982 Newport News VA to Biloxi MS. Straight Thru, Left about 7 AM arrived about 3 AM. Stick shift un-airconditioned 5 speed Chevy Chevette. Only stops were food and gas. South of Atlanta I was afraid that if I pulled over for too long the Kudzu would swallow the car on the shoulder. In September I did the reverse trip but had someone with me from Biloxi to Atlanta Airport (I drove the whole way) About 1000 miles

December 2011 Miami Homestead FL to Frederick MD (after the NASCAR Race) Left about 7PM arrived home about 5 PM next day. About 1150 miles. Only stops were for gas and food and one 2 hour nap at a rest stop. Chevy Cobalt Automatic

Granite City, IL to Wilmington, NC, almost a bit less than 14 hours about 950 miles plus the time it took when I stopped for potty breaks.
Actually that is not true, I drove from Springfield, Il to Wilmington, NC, 1013 miles, 15 hours plus the time it took when I stopped for potty breaks.

In one day alone, I've driven 800 miles.

Twice I drove 770 miles alone slept 5 hours then drove 800 miles slept 6 hours then drove 770 miles home. This was round trip from Houston to Las Cruses, NM then to Scottsdale, Az to pick up a dog I bought then the return trip home to Houston. I spent the night in Las Cruses NM both nights. I did this trip twice for two different dogs I picked up. I was driving my 2008 Infiniti G37 coupe. I did the trip in just over 48 hours driving a total of 2200 miles.

Longest day, was the 800 miles middle of the trip. I was alone if you don't count the dogs who were with me on the drive home each time.

Boston to LA but there were two young female hitch hikers I picked up that went part way with me in miles (and all the way in other ways) so maybe that was not truly alone plus they slowed my miles per day down considerably. OK girls, enough time on the road for today. We need a motel..........LOL

In single run or with stops? Pit stops not counting: overnight from Tracy CA to Kent WA, 847 miles, 13.2 hr. Done it 3 times already.
Longest drive with "normal" rest stops, from MtJuliet TN to Seattle, but it was last few days of December, so I-90 was closed, and I had to take more southern freeways, parallel to it, to get to I-5. That put extra 740 miles on my route, for grand total of very shy of 3 000 miles. 2 242 + 740. 2.5 days. Yes, I drove 17 hrs last day. Just stopping for refuel and restroom.

I once traveled to Colorado from the Delta, I got off work at 7am and at 8 I was on the road, made a gas stop in Fort Smith, AR then drove Oklahoma City and ate there. Going through Kansas was a long drive itself but that's when the sleep started hitting me I have no idea what part of Kansas I was in, but I fell asleep in a Walmart parking lot. I woke up started back, and still had a good drive to go, I didn't make it to Colorado Springs til Sun rise. But the whole trip was a beautiful experience, that was my first time in that part of the country. I had a great time.

What's the farthest you've driven alone in one day?

My cars have traditionally been too unreliable to make it much out of state. I think the most distant I've ever driven my own car was Spirit Lake, Iowa, about 400 miles or so via my roundabout way (I hit as many counties as possible, as my goal then, now complete, was to visit every MN county). That was in one day.

I recently was planning a road trip in my own car, initially to Louisiana and later to Arkansas in my old Buick, but upon being discouraged by family members but the bookings on Hotwire final, I went out and got a cheap rental. Being over 25 has its perks, doesn't it? I drove to St. Louis through Madison straight through, about a 700-mile trip, factoring in an error that took me about 5 miles off track. I left at 11:30 AM and arrived at 1:00 AM, stopping in Madison and trying out Venezuelan food (so I can check that off), and at quite a few truck stops along the way. I came back a different way with nights spent in Hannibal, MO and Cedar Rapids, IA.
The longest trip alone was probably 3500 miles, round trip. The longest in one day was 925 miles and took me about 14 hours. Unless you count the one I did that was over 1000 miles and took me exactly 24 hours to drive it straight through. In August I'm planning to drive from Arizona to S. Dakota and back, alone, so that'll be a good trip. NOT straight through though.

1808 miles was the longest drive.
1400 aproximately is the longest straight thru without an overnight stop and I've done it countless times...the last 4 hours are always pretty brutal.

When I'm on the road alone I just want to get where I'm going.
