'92 Black Subaru SVX -- My sixth car Subaru SVX .com -- I was a middle-aged woman when I owned it, and guys in their 20s would stop and want to talk about it. It was a fabulous car, and to top it all off, it had AWD, which I really needed!
Third choice is tough. Enthusiasts would push for my '91 Red Toyota Supra. http://tinyurl.com/m5ur23p. But I kept that car the shortest time of all my eight vehicles (in 45 years). Handling in our winter weather was just terrible.
Is there a thread for WORST CAR EVER??!? I want to nominate my '74 Volkswagen Dasher!
Aha, OP didn't say "automobiles," it's "vehicles." Conveniently enough, one of my top-three is two-wheeled.
No. 3: 1989 BMW 325ic. Mid 1990s to early 2000s. Yuppie mobile, but really a great ownership experience in my 20s living in the Bay Area. Upwardly mobile professional sort of thing, got a lot of mileage out of the car (figuratively, literally).
No. 2: 1995 Suzuki GSX-R750. Bought new, raced two seasons, ridden on the street several more years. A very charismatic motorcycle: magnificent sportbike that was (is) "just right" in terms of handling vs. horsepower on a racetrack and the street. Never broke. Never tossed down, a minor-miracle. Never let me down when needed. Turned my absolute fastest lap times ever on this thing, broke top-10 in Production races several times, too.
No. 1: 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo (996). Currently owned. A supercar. Doesn't quite look the part, but these things are wolves in subdued colors. Viciously fast and the chassis can take every bit the engine dishes out. Only thing with four wheels I've owned that wants to go a buck twenty, and stay there all day. Refined by the Germans...an obstinate bunch...to the point where it can split atoms on a design that should not work (rear engine), yet does thanks to electronics and more. Might be a lifetime-keeper, though I don't get super-sentimental about cars and an Audi R8 V10, Lamborghini Gallardo, or Ferrari 430 may or may not one day displace it.
My 03' Yamaha R6 Race bike. I got my first and only win on that bike.
My 02' Suzuki SV650. I didnt own it very long or put many miles on it but it just....dont know...felt good.
My 98' CBR900RR. Wasnt the fastest bike or the best handling but I toured all over AZ, UT and CA on that bike. It was also the first bike I did a trackday on and the bike that I learned to really ride on.
One classic American muscle car that I've always dreamed about..
I had two 66 goats. One was a brand new tripower four speed coupe and the other was a four barrel convertible that I bought in about 1968. They were terrific cars and a blast to drive. Wish I had them back.
these are representative of my three favorite cars, in the colors i have them in;
