Is it? A couple of years ago I was looking for another car. I wanted something small and "sporty" I didn't even consider an Integra again, because I didn't want to have to worry about it when I went to the store.
One you can afford to walk away from either a) after a $1,000 repair comes up, and/or b) after you've run it into the ground because you couldn't afford the proper upkeep.

You've got a decent-sized pile of cash for an 18-year-old. Don't blow it on a depreciating piece of rolling eye candy. Buy the cheapest car you can that will get you around reasonably reliably and keep the rest for a down payment on a nicer car when you actually have the means to keep it running.

This gentleman or gentlelady writes the truth.
OP, you need basic transportation, not a "lifestyle statement" or anything else. A late-90s/early 2000s Civic or, if you need something larger, a late-90s/early 2000s Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis ought to fit your budget and needs quite well.
Crown Victorias and Grand Marquis are used so widely in fleet service for a reason. They're built like tanks and aren't expensive to operate.
