If you won a free custom paint job, what color would you pick?
I'd say any bright red or metallic colors that don't oxidize. For those of us who live in central Arizona, you probably know what I'm talking about. If you have a vehicle with metallic colors, you'd better park it in a covered area in the summer months because if you don't, you will need a new paint job in about 5 years. It was even worse for older cars. My dad had a 1970 Cadillac Fleetwod in metallic gray, by 1974, the paint was completely oxidized.
Mike FYI, newer urethanes are superior in UV resistance compared with lacquer's of years ago. Although the new compounds seem to screw up on occasion and some have poor quality issues. I do hope you garage that pretty car of yours though.
I would take a stock repaint of my Sierra, it needs it.
