30k on a vehicle that could be 2 yrs old is suddenly maybe too high mileage? come on!
Out there, there are TONS of people who do drive an 30 min to an hour each day to work...60-120 miles a day X 5 days= 15,600-31,200 miles a year....easily
Regarding the Jatco tranny's, I had a 2009 Rogue and now have a 2012 Rogue with no tranny problems at all. The '09 had a recall where they essentially reprogrammed the computer on the tranny but I never saw a difference.
And I've pulled trailers with the vehicles and the tranny's held up well.
That said though, 30k is ok for 2013 as it could have been purchased from Oct-Jan 2012. So 15k miles or so a year. Does it have maintenance records or a dealer certified pre-owned?
I dunno how many people realistically take a front wheel drive Altima to race or drag strip. If its abused, odds are either a negligent owner or rental car.
If it was purchased in Fall 2012, then it's been 22 months, which is reasonable 1,400 miles per month. I would've driven 45,000 miles in the same span.
30K for a 2013 doesn't necessarily scream out rental. I bought a brand new Accord in Feb. of 2013 and put 27K on it in one year. However, if you are going to buy a used car with that much mileage I'd definitely want to see the maintenance records for it. 30K in and of itself isn't that bad, but it could be if it wasn't maintained correctly. Also be aware that at 30K, items such as belts (particularly timing belt), alternator, rotors and other parts with wear limitations will need to be replaced as you close in on the next 30K - 50K miles.
On a side note, one of the best cars I ever purchased happened to be a used 1998 Altima (~2 yrs. old at that time) with 45K on it. I drove it until it had 216K with no major issues. Granted, it had a conventional transmission instead of the CVT the Altimas have in them now. Several posters have brought up some reservations about the CVTs the current Altimas have. That being the case, I would definitely shy away from any car that has shown a history of transmission problems throughout its model line.

Bracket racing is about consistancy, not speed. I've seen guys win the day with the scooter they use to run back and forth to the timing tower when their dragster broke down, no reason to assume an Altima wouldn't be just as effective.
I bought a truck in 2000 In the first 5 months I already had 10,000 miles on it. All freeway. I average 100 miles a day. If it's well maintained use the high mileage as leverage to get a few grand off. What's a comparable 2012 have in miles 22-24k? 6k miles is nothing in the long run.
