looking for a reliable car that will last for many years without headaches.
live in mn, awd is nice but not mandatory, can drive without it, have my whole life.
preferrably sedan, coupe, or suv.
want good mpg
dont care about power.
prefer a current gen vehicle.
minor point: above average sound system, although i know that it can easily be upgraded later on, but would be nice if it came with a quality sound system.
dont care about awd, live in mn, driven without it my entire life. awd, fwd, rwd, none are an issue for me in bad weather, never been in an accident, driven in the worst conditions in fwd, rwd, never had a problem. what model and year for the subaru. thanks.

For that budget look for a Forester, 2010 with about 80,000 miles. You will be down to 2008 or possibly 2009 to afford a 50-60,000 mile Forester, if you can find one driven that little. The best cars hold their value.
Id suggest a 2006 Acura TL, its the big brother of Honda (made by the same company) its just hondas better looking older step-brother. So the reliability is there.
You're sending mixed messages about AWD. Your original post said it would be nice, then when someone suggests a Subaru you posted a kind of hostile reply.
I live in Vermont, we don't have AWD but when we have it's been great to have.
I would suggest the newest Impreza you can find within your loan limits.
