I'm pretty keen on automated driving, but when it comes to emergency braking, I wonder if there's any way for the system to assess tire condition and grip. As long as tires and road conditions are good, one major potential benefit of these systems is the ability for drastic fuel economy improvements via drafting.

One day in the future, if the masses ever adopt self driving automobiles I sure hope like hell there is never a large scale malware attack that controls all cars and makes them act erratically.
