No, they specialize in automotive technology. Our Ford dealer has one who spent 1/2 hour with us when we bought our 2014 Escape, explaining how to Sync the phones, use the USB port, various internal software, 3 display screens and so on. They also answer the phone when people get stumped after the sale and do upgrades.
They greet you at the service desk when you go to the dealer for the $39.99 advertised "SPECIAL 30 Minute Guaranteed" oil change. Take's all your info and grab your keys from you and then tell's you 15 minutes into the "SPECIAL" that the "TECH" says you need another $775.00 worth of work done at this time.

The service advisors at my local Ford dealership do not specialize in the Sync or My Ford Touch technology. They have specific "TECHNOLOGY"people that do that. They actually have a class every Thursday night.

Yes, that's what I said, the OP was asking what are these Technology Specialist jobs being posted these days? not about service advisors. In fact, our service advisor seemed pretty clueless about the SYNC/Touch systems so I'm glad they have the tech specialist.
