Folks, STOP! For the love of god stop trying to be "nice" on the road and just follow BASIC rules of the road. You know, the same rules that you have to know in order to even get a license?!

I witnessed with what could have been a horrible accident today in Massachusetts where this car was trying to make a left hand turn out of a parking lot from a Mall. There were a number of cars trying to turn left INTO that parking lot from the road. The first car that was trying to turn left WHO HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY was waving the car in front of me to go.

After BOTH of them waving each other on, the car in front of me that pulled out of the Mall parking lot almost got T-boned by an another car driving down the road!

STOP IT. If you have to, go back to the Dept of Motor Vehicles and re-take your test so you learn the rules of the road in case you forgotten them. While it's admirable that you're trying to be nice, you're going to get someone killed.

Follow the rules of the road. If you have the right of way, for the love of god, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

One of my biggest pet peeves also. Theres a reason for right of way rules. Drives me nuts when some clueless do gooder endangers 20 vehicles in order to be "nice" to one. F being nice. Be safe and follow the right of way/rules of the road and everyone will be fine.

Agreed... I've seen more accidents than I care to count over this very issue. Usually, it involves a car stopping to let someone come out of a parking lot or drive and cross over one lane or more of traffic. Usually, it is impossible to see and some unsuspecting innocent motorist winds up being hit by or hitting this other car. I've even seen the "kind" driver who started all of this mess go on about their business after the accident. I think they should be held responsible as well.

Mr. Bill

I agree being nice is nice but it can also be deadly stupid. When I drive my 1965 replica 427 Cobra I have people stopping to let me out so they can see the car or listen to the engine and it is nice but dangerous.
If people would only drive the way most of us expect them too there would be a lot less accidents and that means not driving too fast or too slow but just right for traffic, law and conditions.
My sister inlaw drives like a nut and she has been in many minor accidents. She drives me crazy when she does things like pull into a parking lot and stop to look where to park while the rear of her car is still hanging out in traffic.
If you are turning DO IT already.
It is nice to be nice but don't do it if you are clueless to what is going on around you.

When someone is nice like that to me. I just outwait them. I'm not risking myself to make them feel good.
