I encourage every household in my family to have an extra vehicle.
One thing my family learn early in life when we first came to the US. We can't /wont/don't rely on anyone to give us a ride or use public transportation.
Currently the Experian Automotive put out a report which says the average number of vehicles per household is 2.28.
I haven't been able to find an older version of the same report, or any other previous reports, that could indicate if there's an increase or decrease in vehicles/household. Does anyone know of any figures on this?
I don't know where Experian got that number, but the number of vehicles per household has been dropping and is now below 2.
I used to have an extra (older) car and would feel guilty not driving it. Every time I went outside I felt like I was just wasting money. Don't know how people deal with having a fun car. Just drive the fun car all the time unless you need to haul stuff!
2 drivers, 2 cars now.
