I notice that more and more people in my area (Virginia) seem to think it is cool not to use turn signals. I also notice a weird trend where people ride the shoulder when merging on to the highway to the last possible second (pretty much taking their tires to the rumble strips) and then don't use their turn signal after all of that as if they really didn't make a turn when entering the highway. I don't think all of that drama entitles the person to not use a turn signal. Do you? I mean, I know that it is technically a merge as opposed to a lane change but I use a turn signal for much less.

Truthfully, I think none of those morons know they have a turn signal.

One isn't the reason for the other. The reason for both is that they're just not very good drivers.

I notice that most of these non blinker users are higher end cars like BMW and Mercedes. Guess they didn't come equipped with such equipment eh?

I have noticed that too. I mean if you are going to not use your blinker just cut me off or something...don't ride the shoulder until it dissapears.

Simple. They know if they put on their turn signal, someone might let them merge in front of them. Their whole plan is to get in front of as many cars as possible before cutting in at the last second. If they have their turn signal on, then some nice person might let them merge before they've been able to get in front of a bunch of other cars that are already there.

I've noticed that too. No offense to the majority (51%) of luxury car drivers who do use their blinkers.

you don't wake up one moring with driving skills. either someone teaches you or you learn by trial and error, or you observe and copy / repeat, or a moving violation mends your ways, or a bad accident imprints a mental note to self, don't do that anymore. some have actually attended driving class. mine was in high school. i also attended the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) road and classroom course, which teaches many defensive driving skills that translate directly to 4 wheel auto driving, and i know for a fact that i can anticipate and avoid better. and some people never learn.
