Sadly, you can't get a Porsche Cayman with a sunroof. I enjoy them at night when the weather is right, but I guess they aren't a deal breaker either way.
That's because they have the Boxster for the open air feel.
I'm in Houston and I keep the sunroof cracked on my Mini year round (even during the dog days o' summer). I like the light and air. After working in the office all day, I also have the windows down as i'm heading to the park to run so I can get acclimated to the 100+ degree heat index after being in 60F all day.
Also, when i'm stuck in traffic, sometimes I can just look up to the sky and it doesn't seem so crowded and caged in.
I live in Orlando. I open mine whenever the sun isn't beating down on the car. The heat/light becomes unbearable.
I don't like to use A/C unless I'm stuck in traffic...
I've only had a sunroof on one car I've owned, my last one. I really liked it. I wouldn't generally use it on the highway, but lots of the time when doing local driving. I also kept the shade open most of the time even if I had the glass closed.
I love em! Sadly I've only had 1 car with a sunroof but if it was over 50 degrees I had it open. If my Frontier had one I'd have it open 99.7% of the time!
Out of all the cars I've had, only one didn't have a sunroof. Won't happen again if I can avoid it. And there are a lot of cars without sunroofs, but most mid price to expensive cars seem to have them.
To me it has nothing to do with percentage of use. I don't care if it's 1%. If I want to open a sunroof, the only way to do it is if there is one there to open, and it makes a big difference.

Good way to think about it. I will never have to worry about head room, and always have my seat all the way up, so that isn't an issue, and I know it won't leak; we had a major thunderstorms with 5 inches of rain in 2 hours, and not a drop.
Everything all the sunroof-lovers wroteI second 100%. It's the best compromise if you don't have two cars, one ofwhich is a convertible (and I've had THREE of those!).
I'm in SoFla and it provides light, speedy ventilation for a stuffy interior, terrific breeziness, and that wonderful open-air feeling both night and day that I so truly love. Year round.
