If you're a woman just go into any auto parts store and ask for some help. They'll get you the right type/size for about $12-15.00 and install them for you. In 5 minutes you'll be on your way.
I replaced 10 year old original wiper blades with Rain X ones and was never really happy with them. They streaked. When we got a an early spring rain/sleet storm storm and they froze to the windshield and ripped it was no loss.
I got the $7 no name brand at Wal Mart and they worked great. Good surface fit and cleaning.
Are there any auto parts stores that still sell the wiper refills instead of the whole blade assembly? I hate having to replace the whole blade instead of just the rubber wiper itself.
I trust the research done by John Stossel for ABC's 20/20.
It did not matter what he bought...the nature of the beast is they should be replaced
after 6 months...no matter where you are, now matter how you use them, no matter the price.

That was enough for me.
Nope, have been using my Valeo wipers for years now. Have not switched them out and still no streaks or skipping across glass. Don't throw your money away.

This hasn't been my experience. Really cheap blades wear out a lot faster.
Humble opinion here but, you can go to most auto parts stores and they will replace them on the spot. I opt for the better one-piece blade that swipes completely. Rain-X, Bosch, etc....have to replace them about every 2 years....better than the basics and can usually get 2 years out of them. The cost is roughly $40 a set installed...roughly twice the cheaper ones made but, done 1/2 as often...same argument for synthetic oil over regular...twice as much done 1/2 as often..result? More of YOUR time back....
They are easy to install yourself but, I figure that is one less time for me to get my hands dirty so, I let them do it....good enough.
I would buy the better set as it seems you don't do them that often....it's worth the push. The European style wipe better usually and seem to last about twice as long....let them do it...what's your time worth?

Sometimes you get what you pay for. Have fun with those Walmart blades... I generally spend just a little more for the Bosch wiper blades, my last pair went three years.
My 14 year old vehicle is on it's second set of $12.00 blades. It depends where you live and driving conditions. Here in AZ where it rains very little they don't get used much. And as far as the heat drying them out I garage the vehicle and usually wipe them with a rubber preservative once a year to keep them revived.
