The R&D firm I worked at had an F150 that picked up reports in and test samples in San Antonio, took them to the offices in Houston. He then picked up reports and samples and took most of it to Dallas. Picked up reports and samples there and brought them back to San Antonio. That went on 24/7/365 with 5 drivers. The oil changes were every weekend and that was the only time the truck got to cool off. The trucks would have 250,000+ miles a year put on them. At one time, I was putting 50-60,000 a year on my truck. Thankfully that's over. It's not fun having a 4 wheel office.
What size engine? A lighter duty F150 probably wouldn't have taken it as nicely. An F350 diesel would be great for that kind of straight line mileage. I am quite familiar with those routes and it is flat road; a diesel would sip fuel, even doing 80mph.

Where I live it's pretty normal for people to have 1:30-2 hr commute into the city. They are willing to commute that long everyday because they don't care to live in the city. Plus making a high income in a city allows you to bank a lot of money if you live outside of it due to the lower COL.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited, $8,695 - Cars.com

Guy in Long Island New York has a 1966 Volvo he has driven 70K miles a year EVERY year since 1966

A 1966 Volvo P-1800S owned by Irvin Gordon of East Patchogue, New York, USA, had covered in excess of (3,300,000 miles) The car is still driven on a daily basis and currently covers over 100,000 miles per year, thanks in part to being driven to numerous car shows and events in Europe and the USA.

BTW Irvin is original owner and all those miles were driving by him. His average mile driven in that car is 70K miles a year for 48 years. And he does not let his wife or anyone else drive it. They are all his miles. Orginal paint, engine and tranny and NO he does not have a garage, it sits in his driveway

Not really. THe guy on Long Island drives 100K miles a year 100% pleasure driving as he is retired.

I read something around 2,000,000 miles VOLVO paid him to pull out of the Volvo building as a stunt and make a right out of driveway and pull back into driveway from the left side without turning around, which is only accomplished by driving car completely around the world, that is sick.

Or around the neighborhood, but I get your point

Very plausible. The sales guys where I work drive up to 100 miles one way.

Yep. Not that big of a deal. When I worked as a sales rep for a diesel truck company, I traveled an average of 150-200 miles per day. That's around 52k miles per year.

Heck, even working now, I drive about 170 miles per week to work. Tack on another 120 miles or so for weekend errands, etc... That's 290 per week. Factor in driving 600 miles round trip to visit my parents every few months. Then at least one vacation (another 900 miles round trip where we go). I drive around 19k miles per year now and my commute is short.
