1977-78 Dodge Monaco and Plymouth Fury police cars as seen in Smokey and the Bandit, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Hill Street Blues. Not true muscle cars, but were pretty fast for their time.

I remember Chrysler Corp being mentioned in the credits of many shows. They must have been subsidizing those shows. Like you said not muscle cars but, but like the Crown Vic they were used and often crashed in mass.
Pretty sure the Mustang takes it simply because many movies and tv shows today are being features with the new/current models as well as classics.
