What's the point of buying a sport car in the US? (F150, 2014)

What the point of buying a sport car in the US when you can't drive faster than 65-75MPH on the highway?
There's states that you'll get a ticket for peeling off or speeding up too fast
So what's the point of spending $100,000 on a sport car that can do 200MPH but you can't go pass 75MPH?
This stands out to me because I grew up in a country that doesn't have speed limits (ok... they have them, but nobody obeys them)

Lots of people I know bring their sports cars to Open track days at one of the many tracks all over the USA. It's only the A-holes who want to speed on the highway.
The people you see at car shows with expensive sports cars unless they do track days are just posers, sadly that seems to be the majority.They also seem to be the ones caught speeding on the highways.
There are plenty of private tracks and public tracks in the US where you can exploit your sports car's potential. My old boss had an Exige Cup and an Ariel Atom that he drove on the streets, but mainly kept at the Autobahn Country Club just for racing and having fun with. His R8 V-10 was also daily driven and wrung out on the track, too.
Move to a free state such as Idaho or Wyoming and the speed limit on rural highway is 80.
That said, the joy of driving a true sports car is more about cornering than straight line speed, so there are plenty of opportunities to experience that at less than freeway speeds.

Bingo - That's why I have a Miata. Even a grocery run is entertaining!
Very few cars less than or equal to $100k can go 200mph.
The Mustang GT500 and the Dodge Hellcat twins are the only ones that come immediately to mind.
While I admire them, I would never own a sports car myself. I would much rather have an SUV or Pickup.
Well can have the best of both world with a late 2009-2014 SVT Raptor F150 or 2003-2006 Chevy Silverado SS AWD
