Hopiing someone can advise me on what to do (or where to take it if necessary). Last I drove was Fri., no issues - today I go to leave and the key won't go in the lock - I had to do it several times and keep wiggling before it went in. Went to the grocery store and same thing happened. It's a 2010 Corolla btw - TIA
How cold does it get in VA? I assume your talking about the door lock which can freeze making it so you can't get a key in. Try some lock de-icer, and make sure its the kind that has lubricant
Did some one try and steal your car recently? Maybe damage the lock some how? Is the lock frozen?
It crossed my mind that maybe that happened.... this is a very safe area but I guess you never know. Lock isn't frozen - it was in the mid 30's at the lowest overnight.

I guess I could try that (although it certainly shouldn't have been frozen) - thanks, worth trying.

Your car is resisting penetration - don't rape it.
Do you have a second key you could try? Could be your key somehow became nicked while in your purse. If that doesn't help, try squirting some powdered graphite, or the some other lubricant into your lock.

A note about graphite, it can gum up if you overdo it.
