I have had 0 problems in the snow in my X5M. We dont get huge amounts of snow here in NC but the few chances I have had in the snow it was a blast! No traction problems with all season tires.
I dont care for the X6 though. I looked at both before purchasing my X5, the X6 just looked weird to me for some reason. The interior and the front end are the same for each but that rear end on the 6 is fugly imo lol

As an X5 driver and BMW enthusiast, I see no purpose for the X6 either. A heavy sedan and tall in the rear with terrible visibility, and slightly pricier too. It requires a body kit (not just 20"+ wheels) to even make it look sporty. It's almost like they thought they'd capitalize on the I-want-to-be-different crowd and since they're doing its brother anyway...
The X4 may get a better response because of shrinkage though.

The X5 is a practical all round vehicle. The X6 is bold and is for those who want to stand out from the practical looking X5 crowd.
I'm with Drover. The appeal of this is lost on me.
Did someone finally wake up and see that Porshe has been selling Cayenne's to a lot of soccer mommies and think they needed an answer two decades later? Or is this an attempt to make boomers want to stay in brand?

But Mercedes already had a answer to the Cayenne with the M-Class. In fact the M-Class came first and the Cayenne was Porsche's answer to it.
Every time I see an X6 on the road, I just scratch my head and wonder what the appeal is. "Hey, let's take the disadvantages of both a sports coupe and an SUV and emphasize them in one vehicle!"
